Christ and the Church 1: Bridegroom and Bride by Fr Guy de Gaynesford

In this first talk he looks at what Christ gives to the Church using the image of St Paul as Christ as the Bridegroom and the Church as the Bride:‘Christ loved the Church and sacrificed himself for her to make her holy. He made her clean by the washing of water with a form of words, so that when he took her to himself she would be glorious….’ Ephesians 5: 25-27. Christ is her Saviour, her Teacher, her Model.

Theology and its Relationship to Doctrine by Fr Guy de Gaynesford

Theology Doctrine and the Church podcast artworkSt John 17:3: “And this is eternal life, that they may know you the only true God and he whom you sent, Jesus Christ.”  Fr Guy explains with his characteristic clarity and enthusiasm the relationship between Theology and Doctrine, two subjects which are not the same but which are easily confused. Both are vital for the proclamation of the Gospel, in order that all people are able to hear and understand the saving message of Christ.
