This is the first lecture in an occasional series examining the foundational truths of the Catholic faith. In this talk Fr Guy de Gaynesford looks at the doctrine of the Holy Trinity and shows how it permeates the whole of what we believe as Catholics. The Catechism states: “The mystery of the Most Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is the mystery of God in himself. It is therefore the source of all the other mysteries of faith, the light that enlightens them. It is the most fundamental and essential teaching in the ‘hierarchy of the truths of the faith'” (CCC 234). Fr Guy unpacks the truth of this statement in this clear and compelling study.
