After a look back at the end of Chapter Four in which Fr Robbie usefully summarises the ways in which to interpret Scripture with the mind of the Church, he moves on to examine St Paul’s exhortation to live by the Spirit of God, rather than according to our sinful human nature, the fruits of the Spirit being, as listed in this well-known passage – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control.
