Catechism of the Catholic Church Section 3 – 14 Justification 2 by Fr Guy de Gaynesford
St Paul Repository
1989-1995. Continuing his discussion of Justification, Fr Guy looks at the difference between the Catholic and Protestant understanding. Catholics understand justification as transformative, implying conversion of the soul away from sin and towards God. ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near’. Moved by grace, man turns towards God and away from sin, thus accepting forgiveness and righteousness from high. Justification is not only the remission of sins, but also the santcification and renewal of the interior man.
