Catechism of the Catholic Church Section 2 – 27 Deacons and the Ordination of Women (1569-1578) by Fr Guy de Gaynesford
St Paul Repository
1569-1578. The Ordination of Deacons – ‘in order to serve’. The Sacrament of Orders is conferred only on baptised men. The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the 12 apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry. The Church recognizes herself bound by this choice made by the Lord himself and for this reason the ordination of women is not possible. 93 minutes
