Catechism of the Catholic Church Section 3 – 6 Mercy and Sin (1846-1853) by Fr Guy de Gaynesford

CCC Artwork for podcast Section 31846-1853. The Gospel is the revelation in Jesus Christ of God’s mercy to sinners, however to receive God’s mercy we must admit our faults. 1 Jn 1:8-9: If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.’
Fr Guy considers our propensity to sin in relation to our prior assurance of God’s mercy in Jesus Christ.
